STARTING THE INVISALIGN JOURNEY
How do I begin my Invisalign® treatment?
To begin Invisalign® treatment, schedule a complimentary, no-obligation consultation with Dr. Gwartz and Dr. Ho.
What will happen at my consultation?
Your initial consultation lasts about 60 minutes. We will complete a comprehensive exam and take a digital panoramic X-ray, if needed. We may also obtain a 3-D image of your teeth using our iTero Element Digital Scanner. We will then review your orthodontic condition, and discuss treatment options and costs, and provide your dentist with a report.
What will happen when I begin treatment?
Once you are ready to start treatment, we will take a 3-D scan of your teeth with our Itero Element Digital Scanner. (No Goopy Impressions). This will be used to create your customized Invisalign® clear aligners.
What do I need to do when I get my aligners?
On the day you start, will give you a set of aligners to last until your next appointment. You change them with a new set of aligners every week. You will need to wear the trays 22 hours a day, remove them to eat and brush, and visit us regularly to monitor your progress and to get new sets of aligners. You can eat anything you want, and continue your normal brushing and flossing routine to keep your teeth and aligners clean.
What will happen after treatment is complete?
Once your treatment is complete, Dr. Gwartz and Dr. Ho may recommend using retainers in order to maintain your straight smile. Retainers also help to ensure your teeth do not move from their new position.
